What OS do you have? XP or Vista? What kind of adaptor did you get? Belkin? IOGEAR?
Make sure the pronto software is not running. Plug your USB to serial adaptor into the computer. Do not connect it to the pronto loading cable.
In Vista.. Click start/ right click COMPUTER/ click MANAGE/ click DEVICE MANAGER/ click the plus sign
+
and see if your adaptor is listed.
Is it listed? If yes..
Does it say (COM1)? If yes..
Open the pronto software and see if you can load..
If it does not say (COM1)..
Double click it in the list and a box will open up.. / click PORT SETTINGS / click ADVANCED / Select COM1 from the list / click OK / click OK again...
Open the pronto software and see if you can load.
