I take that to mean he has tried both the front blaster AND an IR emitter on the front of the Denon.

What I haven't seen him reply back about is aliasing the known working power on command (that works fine via line of site) in a macro wrapped in a short delay, or even double or triple hitting the command in a macro. That often works with stubborn commands.
