Thanks Avparts, and right you are. I went on the hunt when my freind told me he was having the issue. I found the firmware update and he installed it. As you say, it fixed the problem. I have always liked Onkyo too.

However it wouldn't let him update it via USB, so he did it via ethernet. He says it worked and that the unit shows latest firmware installed when he tries to update again.

At any rate he says it's working fine now.
