I've casually programmed for other Pronto series for years but recently moved to the NG line. And I have searched on this, but can't quite find the answer I am looking for.

I found a lot of threads about changing the icons themselves, or changing the actual system page, but that is not what I am after.

As I re-work my old configs for the new format, I want to change backgrounds. All the default backgrounds in the gallery look like they are designed and sized to cover up the top and bottom areas of the page. So the system icon strips at the top and bottom.

I am familiar with send to back send to front, but this has no impact.
I read that for the main system page you have to cut holes in your background to get them to show through. So is that true for all pages? Again, what has me thinking I am missing something is that if that was the case, why would the default background bitmaps be sized to cover up those areas?

Sorry for this question that must have been answered somewhere, but I have not found this same flavor.
Thanks,
BillB

PS. It is fun programming prontos again though!
