Until we know which Bose Lifestyle he has, we can't really answer his question.
If he has the LS28/35, then he doesn't need anything except the correct procedures.
If he has most other LS models, he can use the converter, but there are some which don't work with the converter.
I have already asked him in the Sony Forum which he has, and am waiting for a reply, but your reply provides information I wasn't aware of.
