Can you ask why.

As it is the processor should be sending less data to a DM then to a Pad8a.

You can also ignore much of the feedback from the DM so the processor shouldn't have to process anything.

The only reason I can see for stating this is if you have a 16x16 or larger there is an 85% chance you are doing A LOT of audio DA and lighting and HVAC and etc... so they don't want people to get in trouble when things don't work.
