Lyndel is right. Looks like in iTest you need "/x" "\x" "0x" or "|", so you are probably sending incorrect data to the receiver when using "\0x" as the "\" is likely being sent to the hardware. A good way to check what you are sending is to disconnect the RS232 cable from the unit and short Tx and Rx together to see what you receive after testing your command.
