Sounds a little bit like this.The short version...
Item cost = A
Shipping Cost = B
Import duty = C (dependent upon item and country of origin - nominally 5% of A)
VAT = D (20% of A+B+C)
Total = A+B+C+D
Example:
A = $100
B = $20
C = $5
D = $25
Total = $150
