Not sure when the shipping date is on the 5109. I am dying to get my hands on one too. It is being held up because of copyright issues, (see The Perfect Vision article in their new issue). Progressive scanning, which the 5109 has and the 9000 does not IS an improvement over our interlaced scanning. HOWEVER you need a tv which ALSO has progressive scan to UTILIZE IT.
