You also have to keep in mind it isn't just about protecting our business, it's about protecting our right to do business with RTI. Our dealer agreements do not allow handing over the software to the end user.
I find that if I have done my job correctly, I do not get calls from clients wanting to make changes to their remotes. And if I do, they do not mind paying for it. Usually the only time I am required is when new equipment is being installed (and I am typically the one doing that too)
