PS3 adapters range from $2 to $150. All work fine, but the cheaper ones can't to power on. I use HDMI CEC for that, but that will only work if your projector has "viera link". Pick a remote first, then we can narrow down which PS3 adapter will be best. Just about any 7 device remote from $15 to $2500 will work fine. So you'll need to get a handle on your budget and other requirements (RF, touchscreen, computer programmable, etc.).

For an HTPC, I much prefer using an iPad/iPhone with MobileMouse to any IR remote. You can actually control everything with an iOS device if you want.
