I got it apart successfully, but unfortunately re-seating the ribbon cable for the touch panel did no good. I may take it apart again and open the screen itself to re-seat that cable as well, before having it serviced, I don't know.
Oh well, I've emailed ServiceWideTech to make sure they'll service it as I don't think I have the receipt anymore.
It's almost worth thinking about getting a tablet and making that into the system controller. If I go that route I'll have a pristine RFX unit available.

I'm still using your DVD library concepts for all my movies that aren't on the hard drives yet. :-) (Whoops, I forgot that it was LowPro who was the DVD Library maestro, you've helped me with batteries in the past though))
