If I remember I will try to check it tonite. I am in North York so CFTO is a very strong signal. I have a signal strength indicator that will tell me if the broadcast signal drops after midnite. However, I dont recall CFTO ever being off the air in the middle of the night.
I know for a fact that AM radio stations used to (and maybe still do) change their radiation patterns at night so as not to conflict with other stations. I didnt know that televisions stations did the same thing.
