Sorry, I just assumed (stupidly) that you already have a IR to Bluetooth adapter or IR to USB adapter for your PS3.
The PS3 isn't controlled by IR-- the remote uses Bluetooth. So no brand of IR remote will work without an adapter. USB based adapters (usually sold together with an IR remote, like Nyko) are cheaper, but won't turn the power on or off. A straight IR to Bluetooth adapter is more expensive.
