I am a new harmony 1 user, having used three MX 500 remotes, one in each room for perhaps 10 years.

Setup seemed fairly easy, with a few exceptions.......

My Yamaha Music server for some reason is listed as a music server in their choices, but once selected, does not allow the Activity to use it as a server, so had to set it up as a tuner..........otherwise it works fine.

Also found most of my devices fairly easily, whereas setup on the MX 500 was a little more time consuming to program some of the remotes not in the database, even though I had the IR clone device that someone on this site had reverse engineered.

I have noted the same thing I have seen many others comment on here, that the tilt sensor works kind of quirky, sometimes only taking a small movement, and other times even shaking the device or moving it a full 90 degrees does not turn on the backlight),

But now my question............why did they save all the commands to buttons seemingly in alphabetical order, rather than in some sort of normal remote arrangements?

Is there a way to download other peoples common device setups to save time rearranging or is there an easier way to move things. For example my Denon receiver has about 8 pages of custom buttons and to move a few commands from page 8 to page 1 takes time, so deleting and starting over may be easier?

Also, does anyone know of a good list of tips and/or tricks for the new user?

and PS.......I would think the power button, when you are on a DEVICE, should toggle the power for that 1 device. It seems it still turns off all the devices on the last activity that I was on. Is this correct?

It would seem more intuitive for the power button would just toggle power on devices, and then when you go back to the activity, turn off all devices on the activity.

Thanks.......
