My Yamaha receiver has a discrete on (sort of) by pressing one of the source buttons, but frustratingly, does not have a discrete OFF, so it is possible for me to get out of sync with my URC RF20 setup (which incidentally has no codes for the new Yamaha receivers at all).

So I tested using my RC64 DirecTV remote set to "AV2", pressed the mute and SELECT button for 6 seconds until the LED flashed twice and entered code 31276. The LED then falshes 2 times again signalling it received the code. Miraculously, this turns off the receiver when you press the PWR button on the RC64 remote and is discrete for OFF. It won't also turn the receiver on. I then was able to learn this code on the RF20.

My receiver is the RX-V371 but perhaps this will serve as a discrete off for the complete 2011 RX-VXXX Receiver line).

I don't have any way of breaking down this code for use with other programmable remotes, but perhaps someone with D* and more experience can provide more of the details of the code being sent.
