Im not completely sure if they let everyone register, but since you do have a remote, they may allow you to register it with the serial number and get the software. The software, again, is call "Complete Control Program."

it will also program with the MX900 editor. he probably just has an old copy that doesn't allow updates like the newer version.
the software can only be downloaded by dealers.
