Sigh... I'll never understand URC's product naming scheme, or why their web site doesn't even show the R50 and R40 remotes.

I found the R50 review here on RemoteCentral and assumed that was the "latest" incarnation in the MX-500 family. I wouldn't have guessed that the R40 was a "newer" model but have since figured out that it appears to have addressed some of the problems with the R50 (like the recessed hard button layout). It sounds like the R40 may be my next remote... but is there an MX-440, or whatever would be a premium or professional and RF version of the R40, in the same way the MX-450 appears to be a premium version of the R50?

Where's Daniel's review of the R40? :-)

Edit... OK, sounds like the MX-780 is somewhat of a "premium" version of the R40, but also available only to professionals. Perhaps what we really need is a consumer version of the MX-780? :-)
