Regarding running ProntoProEdit NG on a Windows 7 machine, I may have a fix for you. If you have Windows 7 Professional or higher, you can download an XP virtual machine from the Microsoft website. I found that it works well, but only with 1 out of my 3 USB ports (a USB 3.0-SATA combo - I have figure out why only this one works). The only pain is that you need to manually attach the Pronto each time you plug it in through the USB menu in the Windows XP virtual machine. Other than that it works very well.
