Hi there, I have Nevo SL ATM, along with two CD megachangers. I use a carefully manicured set of screens with the CDs defined within them.
The first screen is a set of A-Z buttons each one of which jumps to another screen.
There are 26 Page collections named "xyz A" through "xyz Z" the xyz is in there so that they appear together in the drop-down list in NevoStudio. Each collection then has as many pages as required to include a button for each artist. The jump from the first screen leads to the first page of the appropriate page collection.
Each artist button then performs a jump to the first page of a page collection for that ARTISTS (named "x Artist"... x there to keep them together). Each page collection here contains one button per CD, spread over as many pages as needed.
Each CD button calls a start macro (the sequence needed for the changer to ready itself for a disk number), followed by the appropriate sequence of digits finally followed by an end macro (just PLAY if memory serves).
Sounds complicated, I know, but is actually very complicated. Not so bad to maintain... A nightmare to set up. I tried to find some way of setting this up automatically, but to no avail. Oh yes, if you go down this route, be sure to keep a spreadsheet of CDs so you know what's what!
Before switching from Pronto to Nevo a couple of years ago, I tried one of the runs-on-a-PDA applications, and was able to auto-generate CD pages for that without too much trouble, but the app sucked... Just wasted money and time on the damn thing.
I wanted cover art in there, too... But not enough memory in the SL for a collection of the size I have.
