MX3000 is a 'ok' remote at best, the URC base station isn't what I would call immune to noise and thats about half the problems I see with most of the installs.

As far as programming, you would need the software (specific for the mx3000) available to authorized dealers. Its far from a good program to use, but it isn't terrible. If your guy has been there 3 days find a new one, being its a one way remote with 0 two way, 0 anything really, it should take a few hours and thats assuming you built it from scratch.

If its not working reliably, move the RF receiver, change channels, lastly make sure they turned off the IR blaster on the RF receiver, it can cause alot of havok when devices get the codes from the emmiters, and also the blaster.
