One thing that sucks about iTunes is that Apple doesn't remotely take automation seriously. Given the slavish adulation of all things Apple, everyone wants to use iTunes, but it sucks in terms of integration to automation system really. The media management engine needs to be separated out and made into a service with a network based interface.
