It is possible to control the remote on screen for your cable company.
After watching slingplayer the other night and hovering over some of the buttons on the on screen remote I noticed most of them had a keyboard key assigned to them for a shortcut.
I added a MCE Keyboard to the Logitech software and was able to get almost all the keystrokes I needed to control the on screen remote with my Harmony One remote.
I am still having trouble with the sequences though. I have Slingplayer assigned to start with the keyboard shortcut Ctrl+Alt+S and assigned to the play key on the Harmony remote.
The shortcut works fine when using it through a keyboard but when pressing the Play key on the Harmony remote it just highlights different icons on the screen and does nothing else.
I was able to get Windows Media Player to work since I had the remote that came with the computer and simply learned the command for starting Windows Media Player through that.
I believe if I had a IR keyboard then I could have the Harmony One learn the command for starting Slingplayer from there.
