Thanks King of typos. This old posting helped me to fix my beeping remote. I thought it was finally dead. I tried the method you posted, several times, but it didn't work. Then I tried it with the batteries installed, but it still didn't work. When it finally worked (the batteries were in) I had gotten to the point that it asked you to reset the remote, I walked away for a minute, when I came back it was updating the firmware.
