Sounds like a bad serial adapter then, but if it is, I don't understand why a red button reset fixes it. Seems like I'd have to unplug the reciever and plug it back in. Oh well, I'll get an IOgear and report back. I have read about an approved list? Where can I find this? DirecTv tells me the port is unsupported and that if it breaks they will not cover it because they know Im using the USB port.
