I have on of those IR2PS3 devices. Works great. To keep it powered up I have it plugged into my WII instead of my PS3. I don't have my WII anymore. I think if I plugged it into a powered USB hub that would keep it powered up. However, on power failures don't I still have to go setup the BT device in the PS3? It drive my wife nuts that sometimes she goes to watch a movie and the remote doesn't work. I know it has the option to plug an A/C adapter into but I didn't get one (and can't remember the voltage requirement).

I have another PS3 at my vacation home and am using the NYKO Bluwave dongle. It works great but can't power on the PS3 using the remote but that is okay in the application I'm using that PS3. But my other PS3 I need remote on/off.

Is there any solution, aside from using a battery backup device, that provides IR on/off control for the PS3 that you don't have to re-assign the device when there is a power failure? Is my only simple/cheap option the AA battery powered BlueBeam? Or am I missing something about how to use one of the other solutions so that I don't have to keep setting up the device after every power failure?
