You DON'T want to use acetone. Use denatured alcohol. Also, if soda was spilled on it or worked its way in, acetone won't necessarily remove it. If the contaminant is water-soluble, you need a water-based cleaner. If it's oil-based, some other cleaner is needed, but not acetone.
