OK, i get your point and hadn't thought of it that way.  I personally use URC remotes incorporated into my whole house a/v systems.  Some rooms get touchpanels or keypads, some rooms get remotes or a combination of both.  Thats what brought this whole thing up for me and made me think about the useful feature of being able to pull out codes that i've verified are working.
Good point though.
