Top 10 Blu-ray Releases of the Week
By Arlen Schweiger
Toy Story 3 and anniversary releases of The Sound of Music and The Goonies highlight this week's high-def arrivals.

The hills are alive ... with the sound Julie Andrews and the rest of the Von Trapp family, now in 7.1-channel, uncompressed DTS-HD Master Audio. Yes, for its 45th anniversary, The Sound of Music can now be enjoyed in high-definition with a high-res Blu-ray soundtrack as well, part of a pretty strong week for releases.

Expect a solid transfer of the 1965 Academy Award-winning family favorite, which is presented in its original 2.20:1 wide aspect ratio. There’s also a collector’s edition gift set, just in time for the start of holiday shopping season.

If that’s not enough to get the family together for a fun movie night over the holidays, this week also gives us Pixar’s Toy Story 3, as well as a Toy Story box set, and the classic Chitty Chitty Bang Bang on Blu-ray as well, for some good multigenerational fun.

Here are our picks for Top Blu-ray Releases of the week.
