without a Samsung televison at my disposal right now this is the best I can do to help.
it looks like the iphone app is sending a UDP multicast packet on port 1900 and is using IPv6.
Here is the payload of the packet that the app is sending out
M-SEARCH * HTTP/1.1
Host:[FF02::C]:1900
ST:urn:Microsoft Windows Peer Name Resolution Protocol: V4:IPV6:LinkLocal
Man:"ssdp:discover"
MX:3
I am unsure if the TV will respond to unsolicited strings coming in without a successful UPnP connection being established first. The TV should respond the the packet above with a response telling the control point its Ip address and Port that it will be listening on. This address and port information is the first step to getting the TV to respond.
If i can get my hands on one of the new series TVs I will explore this further
