The current SD dvrs are R15 & R16. Both are RF remote controllable. Any HD Receiver or DVR are RF remote controllable. Where SD differs from HD, is SD dvrs can be made to accept both IR & RF remotes at the same time, where HD its one or the other. What is a RC-500?

The directions in this thread are for SD dvrs, with HD you first have to enter the menu of the receiver and put it into RF mode, then do the following on the RF remote:

1. dtv symbol device
2. press and hold MUTE & SELECT for two blinks
3. enter 9 6 1
4. press CH UP
5. enter the last 6 digits of the Receiver ID #, found on a sticker in the access card compartment
6. press SELECT
