The Pronto professional forum has a number of posts on this subject.
An attractive option is to install Logitech's SqueezeCenter software (free) on your PC and to use either Barry Gordon's SlimPronto or Tenchi's Prontosqueeze Pronto modules to control it.
The Pronto can communicate directly with the PC via TCPIP.
