The drawer is a DVD-ROM (since there's no reason for anyone to make a dedicated CD-ROM anymore) and if you google the part number, it can be found very cheaply. The difference is that the dark anodized aluminum piece will need to be placed on the new drawer. IMO, ReQuest charges too much for the OEM drive but if the client is willing, it's the easiest route. My client said "In the grand scheme of things, it's not a big deal- just get it from them".
BTW- you didn't hot-swap the hard drive, did you?
Since the hard drive is a network drive, it looks like the least expensive way to expand the storage capacity is to pay Request for the software so the server will work with a NAS, since large drives that they have tested (NetGear and LaCie) cost less than a large internal network drive.
