having dusted off my old Compaq iPAQ PDA after wrestling with numerous remote controllersI decided to run TV room controller 5.7 to emulate the Pronto. But the teardrop button look hasn't aged well!

So I decided to photograph my actual remote control buttons and see if I cannot convert them down to a Pronto edit 4 acceptable size.

this is my first foray into using the editor after reading the "Tips for Creating Quality ProntoPro Graphics" and FAQ "Section B9: Working With ProntoEdit: Custom Bitmaps", it struck me that I might be wasting my time if in fact I run out of memory in the editor or it has been tried before and failed by the hand of a more experienced user in this forum.

so I guess the question is as anybody used actual real-world images as icons in the editor or on their device successfully without slowing their device to a crawl?

you may also add that I am no expert in Photoshop but I can get by with a little patience on your part and I am open to simpler bitmap editing package like MS paint if in fact this project is worth undertaking.

Any help appreciated, cheers
