I'm just posting this for informational purposes, as I didn't find much info on this adapter when I searched the Nevo Forum. None of this is new, but I thought it might be handy to have the information compiled in one post.---------------------
Logitech's
"Harmony Adapter for Playstation 3" works perfectly with the Nevos, in both wireless IR and wired IR modes. Logitech claims, of course, that it's only compatible with Harmony remotes, but it should make the PS3 a standard IR device in any remote system. Some useful bits of setup info:
• Nevo's codeset for the "Logitech PS3 Adapter"
(Y2639) includes all the discrete commands used by Sony's BT remote.
• The
POWER OFF command is actually a macro, and in non-Harmony control systems, this has to be constructed manually, as follows. (Asia-region PS3s use O instead of X.)
⇒ Send [PS, 1s]
⇒ Send [X]
⇒ Delay 500ms
⇒ Send [X]
• The adapter's wired IR port is 2.5mm. So whether you use an adapter or make your own cable, as I did, you'll need
2.5mm mono-to-3.5mm mono to run the PS3 adapter from the NC-50.
• The adapter can apparently cause problems with the PS3's BT controller-pairing when placed very close to the console, so I saw several recommendations to keep it at least 5' away. (I didn't experience this myself, but it's worth noting.)
