I agree that buying a replacement remote isn't cost effective, and it probably isn't worth buying even a cheap universal remote to try to find the right setup codes.
But if you have a Comcast remote, or an Atlas that other cable companies supply, or Radio Shack models 15-100/133/134/135/2133/2138/2144, OneForAll models URC-6131/6690/6820/8820/9960/10820, Cox 7820B, or RCA RCRP05B, then try Setup code Video (DVD, VCR, PVR, etc.) 0821.
There is a reasonable chance that 0821 will work.
If you don't have one of those laying around, try any universal remote with Funai, Magnavox, Sylvania, or Emerson setup codes.
I doubt that it is worth spending any money on a universal remote for this, but if you do want to buy one, the RCA RCRP05B is probably still on sale at Walgreen for $8 or $9, and is a good bet to have a working setup code.
