Hello and good day, I have a friend who just bought a brand new Sharp(25c340)TV, a new Phillips DVD(DVPL42/37), and obtained a new "digital" cable box made by General Instuments according to the plate on back, called a starfone SVT(isn't that a Ford?). Basic affordable stuff. Anyways the Sharp TV came with a universal remote wich probably bites anyways but it wont work on either the dvd player or the cable box. I was hoping for a searchable database to enter at least devices or so and find available remotes. The UR that came with the Sharp TV(it is not really that sharp of a tv) has codes for the other brands in each specific group, but none worked. Also tried the search function for both. He wants one remote only and likely doesnt want to spend enough to get a learning remote. This is a rental villa so simple is better than fancy. I realize it's hard when everything is new, but it usually takes half a year to a year to get down here to even buy something electronic. Thanks in advance, sorry for any ignorance on my part.
