I just got a DirecTV D11 (D11-100) satellite receiver. I've searched around Remote Central's forums and files, and did a Google search. I haven't found any Pronto files for the DirectTV D11-100. I'll teach the codes to my Pronto TSU7000 (unless someone can point to where I can download the codes from). However, the original D11 remote does not have discrete power on/off commands. Does anyone know if there are discrete Power On/Off codes for the D11, or is there a workaround to simulate Power On? I've tried hitting all the buttons with the D11 powered off, but it does not go on. The alternate plan is to leave it on all the time.

Thanks.

I have a DirecTV H10 HD receiver, and couldn't find any discrete codes either. There shouldn't be a problem leaving the receiver on all the time anyway (it's never really off even when powered off), as that's what I've done now.

The manual for the D11 shows that the remote has three power buttons. The one just titled "Power" is for turning off equipment depending on the position of the mode switch. The "TV Power ON and OFF" buttons are specifically for powering the D11 on and off. Wouldn't those two buttons provide the discrete power you're looking for?

When I select the Power On and Off buttons (with the mode switch set to the D11), it tells me to program my TV's power. So, I assume that they are only for the TV, despite the fact that the manual says that they are for both the TV and the D11.

That stinks. Oh well, I thought it was worth suggesting. I Googled it to see if the box was made by someone else incase there were some other codes you could try but I didn't see any evidence of that. That's when I looked at the manual.

Good news. I tried the Power on & off codes that someone else had posted for their H20 and HR20, and they worked for my D11 (D11-100)! The codes are:

Power On:

0000 006b 001e 0000 00e6 002e 002e 002e 0017 0017 002e 0017 0017 0017 0017 0017 0017 0017 002e 002e 002e 0017 0017 0485 0073 002e 002e 002e 0017 0017 002e 0017 0017 0017 0017 0017 0017 0017 002e 002e 002e 0017 0017 0485 0073 002e 002e 002e 0017 0017 002e 0017 0017 0017 0017 0017 0017 0017 002e 002e 002e 0017 0017 002e

Power Off:

0000 006b 001e 0000 00e6 002e 002e 002e 0017 0017 002e 0017 0017 0017 0017 0017 0017 002e 002e 002e 002e 002e 0017 0485 0073 002e 002e 002e 0017 0017 002e 0017 0017 0017 0017 0017 0017 002e 002e 002e 002e 002e 0017 0485 0073 002e 002e 002e 0017 0017 002e 0017 0017 0017 0017 0017 0017 002e 002e 002e 002e 002e 0017 002e

randman - Thanks for those codes, I'll have to try them and see if they work on my H10.

Hello...Since you posted a while ago already, you may have already found the solution to your problem, but I'll give you a response myself anyway.

I have a brand new, newly installed, DirecTV D11 receiver and here's what I have to offer to you.

According to the menu, there are two possible codes for a Philips brand TV, and one is 10054, the other one is 10690, so you can try those two codes.

The PWR or POWER button is to turn the power on and off of whatever device you have programmed the remote to control, and will control one device at a time, and which device it controls at any given time depends upon what position the switch above the PWR button is in.

The TV Power On and Off buttons will turn your D11 Satellite receiver on and off, and your TV, both at the same time, one after the other, provided you have the switch above the PWR button slid over to the left, or in the Satellite or DirecTV position in other words, IF you also have already programmed the remote to control the TV.

You can program the remote in two ways:

1) By entering the code
or
2) By using the Code Search feature

To enter the code when the code is known:
1) Move the mode switch to TV
2) Press and hold the MUTE and SELECT keys until a light above the mode switch on the remote flashes twice
3) Enter the code (possibly 10054 or 10690)
4) Press TV POWER to see if the TV responds
5) If it doesn't respond, repeat the process from Step 2) and try a different code
6) If the TV responds, you're finished programming the remote in this mode, unless you also wish to program TV INPUT

To find the code using Code Search:
1) Move the mode switch to TV
2) Press and hold the MUTE and SELECT keys until the light above the mode switch on the remote flashes twice
3) Enter 991 using the number keys, pause a split-second, then press 1
4) Press TV POWER
5) Press CHAN UP, wait long enough to see if the TV responds, and if not, keep pressing the CHAN UP button until the TV responds
6) Once the TV responds press SELECT to store the code
7) Move the mode switch back to the Satellite or DirecTV position

These should have solved your problem, but if not, then the remote, I guess, can't control your TV.

To look for codes for other TVs, or other devices, using the remote control, you can do this:

1) Press the MENU button
2) Select SETTINGS
3) Select Setup
4) Select Remote
5) Select AV1, AV2 or TV, unless you read up on the Receiver Mode and want to set the remote up in the Receiver mode, or if you want to select Reset to reset the remote
6) If you select TV, select the brand of TV that you have, Philips in this example
7) Any possible codes for the remote will now show on the screen
8) There are also the choices of DONE and Code Search showing, to either allow you to leave that screen, or to let you know how to use Code Search

Hope that helps you, if you still want or need help, and catch you later.

Have a Great Day,
Bernie

Hi again...as far as getting your remote control, that came with the TV, to work to turn the D11 on and off, that I can't tell you as I don't have a Philips TV, I used to have one, but it died on me and I no longer have it, and I can't rmember how it's remote control was programmed as I have too many remotes to remember the way it is.

I have a remote for the electric heater, I have a remote for my Magnavox and RCA TVs, I have the D11 remotes, the computer has a remote and I have programmed it to control the D11, but it will only do certain things with the D11, but it will turn the D11 on and off, but I don't know the codes as I used the code search function, so I have no idea what the codes for the D11 are, and in fact, my RCA remote control has 6 device buttons on it, one for the TV, one for the DVD player, one for VCR1, one for VCR2, one for AUX and one for DIRECTV...and I've been trying to find the code for controlling the D11 using the RCA remote, including searching the Internet for an answer, and that's how I came across your post.

I have remotes for other things as well, like two different DVD players, two different VCRs, two different stereo systems, etc...They all have remote controls, and I even posted a poem on a web site talking about everything having a remote control today, even the car has a remote control ha ha ha.

I'm going to continue looking for an answer for me here, as I only have one remote and two D11 receivers, so I've been trying to program the RCA D770 remote control to control the newer D11 receiver as the remote I guess automatically controlled the older DirecTV receivers but not the newer ones. and the D770 would have all of the Satellite features that I'd want...a few more than the computer's remote uses, but the computer's remote needs to have the Media Center started up to work, which would be all right if I'd watch the satellite TV with the computer, and have already done so, but I'd like to be able to control the D11 without the Media Center up and running.

I do have a RCA RCR450 remote, which I was able to program to control the D11, using the remote in the SAT-CBL position, but that too was programmed using Code Search, so again I don't know the code for the D11.

I used to have another remote, where there was a way to press two or three buttons, and I was able to see what code was programmed using the Code Search feature or function by watching how many flashes the light would make before pausing for the next number, but that was from an old device that I no longer have...I kind of wish now that I would have saved that old remote as that may have allowed me to see what the code for the D11 is.

Good luck and catch you later.

Have a Great Day,
Bernie

Hello once again.

I searched around the net a bit more and right now I have found this...Whether this will help you out or not remains to be seen...I'm going to try these codes on my RCA D770 remote as it would access all features of the D11, whereas the RCA RCR450 remote does allow accessing all but one feature of the D11 that I'd like to access, which is, it won't access the Guide, so in order to use the Guide, I have to press Guide on the D11 first, then I can navigate the Guide with the remote...The D770 does have access to the Guide, if I could only touch on the code for the D11:

Well, I don't see the D11 listed, but I see the 2 All Models codes, which I'm going to try...but I'm not too hopeful on them....

Good luck in finding those codes, but you probably used the Code Search function of the Pronto TSU7000 to program the code for the D11 anyway, so you probably don't know the code anyway, unless the TSU7000 has a way to show you the code.

Bernie

Hi all-

Sorry if this is a boneheaded question, but can someone help me with the remote codes to control the D11-100? I've been trying to control it with the remote that came with my a/v receiver (Onkyo SR-TX606), and I've tried dozens of codes, but I can't get the DirecTV box to recognize my receiver's remote. Any suggestions?

Thanks!
