Hello,

I am searching for a Marantz RC2000 MK2 remote

I got this exact model in .. 1998
It works fine but, after some "old age" alerts , I want to clone it to the same model, by security

Thanks :)

Best regards from France,

Jean-Max

Many thanks , but I am searching the RC2000 "MKII" model which is different from the RC2000 "" :

The "MKII" model is the only model of the whole remote market able to learn the Nec PPM IR codes (Carrierless unmodulated pulsed codes) from Barco CRT projectors from before 2000 (after 2000, Barco used Philips RC5 standard)

I was too late : I missed this recent Ebay link for an RC2000MKII :( :

If you hear about an MKII , tell me ! Thanks :)

Best regards from France

You might also want to keep an eye out for the RC-18SR, this version came with the Marantz SR-18EX receiver. I'm pretty sure it's identical to the MkII, but I can't guarantee that you would be able to clone from an RC-2000 MkII to it.

I see one on ebay now:

Also note that the most obvious difference between the RC-2000 and and RC-2000 MkII is that the original RC-2000 did NOT have a channel up/down rocker on the left side. Of the two ebay links posted earlier in this thread, the second one shows a proper photo for the RC-2000, but the first one shows a photo of the RC-2000 MkII (along with the notation that it is the wrong photo - gee, why not take a real photo?).

Thanks !

YES : The photo in the first link is RC2000 MKII
(rectangular and not triangular buttons on upper left and right rows on each side on the LCD screen)

But the vendor wrote at the bottom of his Ebay page : :(

"On May-28-08 at 20:48:35 PDT, seller added the following information:
This photo is of the MKII. I am NOT selling a MKII just a regular RC2000. Sorry about the confusion".

YES for the Marantz-RC-18SR !!!
It comes also with the AV-9000 pro Marantz
I downloaded the AV-9000 pro doc and it's written that the RC-18SR can clone the RC2000 MKII : it's exactly the same model :)

I founded some minutes ago the Ebay page for RC-18SR and, before any bid, I asked the vendor if he is OK for adding an "Buy it Now" Ebay function

Thanks for all :)

note :
Barco staff confirmed me some years ago that the RC2000 MKII can learn old Nec PPM Barco codes, but ...not the RC2000

I don't know about the specific codes you're referencing, but the RC-2000 MkII is the only remote produced able to learn frequencies up to 1.125mHz... the original model could not.

I actually own the RC-18SR myself... came with my receiver (and Marantz did bundle it for a few of their other components at the time).

Jean-Max,
Take a look at the URC MX500. It should be a natural progression from the Marantz. It should also be fairly easy to find for cheap.

It does not weigh as much, but that is a good thing. The Marantz is a pretty dated remote and short on memory.

VERY Stange : the URC MX500 :

is EXACTLY the same model as my Sherwood RNC 500 universal remote which cames with my Sherwood P-965 pre amp !
look:
[Link: sherwoodusa.com]

In fact I didn't try to learn anything to my Sherwood RNC 500 remote , once its original Sherwood codes learned by ..... my actual (fabulous but.... old) Marantz RC2000 MKII !

My initial purpose in this thread was to find another RC2000 MKII to clone mine before crash !

For test, I will try to teach to my Sherwood RNC 500 some PPM high frequency codes from my original BARCO remote
I am not very optimist for success ..

I let you know the result !!

Best regards from France :)

Hi, Daniel Tonks,

I founded on Ebay, an RC-18SR
Immediately, I cloned my RC2000 MK// :)
All is fine now, with my two "twins" remotes !

The only difference between the 2 remotes is :
on the RC-18SR, there is an 11 th Function Hardware key :
It's a new "AMP" function, from one of the 3 buttons in lower right zone of the remote (On the RC2000, this button is labeled "OSD")

Thanks for all @ best regards,

Jean-Max
