I know we have a few current and ex car guys here...any of you guys happen to have a manual for the MC300 or could at least verify with 100% accuracy what the correct connections would be to bridge this amp from 4ch to 2ch I would greatly appreciate it...lost my manual and Soundstream does not have any copies nor do they have anyone on staff that remembers that amp...go figure.

I remember that amp, yes you can bridge it out to 2 channels....

I had an MC140 for a while, which was the baby of that series at 35x4, along with some D100II and D200II amps from the generation with the baby blue anodized heatsinks.

They were all stolen out of my little Civic hatchback, and I wanted to cry. They were very clean and sounded better than almost anything else you could buy back then.

The MC500 was the REALLY large 4 channel amp, but that amp you have is still a bad ass.

If you miss that stuff all that much, I know a person that bought a boat load of it for a car project that never happened in the early 90's. For all I know she still has it. Want me to ask her? You're right, it was good gear.

Rick-Owen...I have a Soundstream reference 604 bridged (150 watts x 2 4 Ohms) driving a Dynaudio MK220 component set (5 1/4" mids/soft dome tweeter) and the Soundstream MC300 bridged (or will be by this weekend 150 watts x 2 4 Ohms) driving two 8" JBL GTX8 subs (last of the really decent subs by JBL, huge magnet, rated for 250 watts RMS and has either a 1 1/2" or 2" coil) in a ported downward firing box (tuned to 40hz) in the back of my standard cab Toyota Tundra and an old school top of the line Alpine CDA 7930 CD/Tuner....really makes that 45 min commute to work enjoyable. Those Dynaudio's sound so so sweet, especially on acoustic music (ex: Jerry Garcia/Dave Grisman bluegrass jams) I could never get rid of them.

Maybe even larger than that... The 12" had a 4 inch VC.
I am still looking for some 1200GTi or 1500GTi subs that haven't been abused.

The GTI's are hard to come by, best bet it to keep tabs on ebay. I had a 1000GTI in the back of a 93' thunderbird hooked up to the Soundstream ref604 (run in 3ch mode) and it sounded great...like a dumb #*s I gave it away to a friend.

Our shop does home and car A/V integration and we had an older Porsche 944 turbo come in with a bunch of old higher end gear and it had the EQT in it with the same issues...what a real PITA. The install was nice and clean for its day...

I monitor Ebay regulary for old Linear Power amps, GTi subs, first gen Phoenix Gold amps, the original PPI 2350DM, and I would kill a man for a 7909 re-issue deck... As for seperates, I have a great relationship w/ Canton, and they still sell some of the best seperates ever.

I owned D-D-D-D-D-Denon car decks, including the infamous 9770 with the LED color change kits (mine was dark blue, impossible to read, but VERY cool), and the CDT950R that replaced it as the top of the line.

I had mostly PPI over the years, going back to the M & then AM series.

My first car audiop getup was an OOOOLLD Alpine shafted tape deck with an ANALOG tuner... but it hads preouts on a DIN cable. The only non-Alpine amps that had DIN that looked like that were Orion, but I found out that they were not the same pin config.

I was a EE student at the time, so I re-soldered the outrageously expensive DIN cable and made it work.

I had the FIRST Orion amp in N. IL.... everyone else had Punch 45s & 150s, or a/d/s/ amps.

Mine was an Orion 220GX running Coustic 3-way 6x9s (mounted on 3/4" particle board baffles laminated to the deck w/ silicone, of coures) in my Buick Regal.

Everyone thought I had subs.... But that was back when most people had terrible subs in terrible enclosures, or just as bad the Pyle Driver or MTX "Road Thunder" 10" 3-way truck boxes.

I recently found my old IASCA judges certificate and rule book from the early years...
I know that I have the CD around here somewhere, too...

And I have an old AudioControl RTA, but I don't have a dot-matrix printer for it...

So I can give you a score, but no printout of your RTA.

The only trophy I ever won for anything was for my car stereo. Putting a big system in my car (better said 'having a big system put in') is what got me started in this industry. Second overall from 160 cars in Jefferson City MO in the summer of '88. The best part was the prize. 20 bucks and a Cerwin Vega 10" Sub. Great...
